In 2012, filmmaker Daniel Hayward (who made the minidocos of the 'What It Is?' comic performance nights at Readings bookshop in Carlton in 2011) and I will be making a feature documentary movie examining the extraordinary graphic novel culture of Melbourne. The four cartoonists we will focus on are Nicki Greenberg, Mandy Ord, Bruce Mutard and Pat Grant, but the movie will also cast its eye over the comics-making culture of Melbourne.
The project has received funding from the City of Melbourne and support from Readings, and will premiere at Readings Carlton in October 2012.
